NMSFA Reaffirms Partnership and Welcomes USDA Forest Service Leadership

Northeast-Midwest State Foresters Alliance (NMSFA) is welcoming new USDA Forest Service leadership and reaffirming its commitment to essential state-federal partnerships with the Forest Service. The Alliance also supports the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) recently announced key forestry priorities.

“NMSFA members know our states’ longstanding partnerships with the USDA Forest Service are integral to ensuring healthy and resilient forests throughout the region,”
said Earl Eutsler, NMSFA President. The Alliance looks forward to working alongside newly named USDA Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz to achieve shared forest management goals. His work in state-led land management brings a valuable perspective to the role. NMSFA also extends its thanks and appreciation to outgoing Chief Randy Moore for his years of collaboration and thoughtful leadership.

State forestry agencies work to keep our forests healthy, support forest markets, prevent wildfires, and more with state and federally funded programs. They support local fire departments, assist private forest landowners, and manage state public forestlands. Strong partnerships are essential to this work.

NMSFA is well-positioned to collaborate across boundaries to create practical forest
management solutions that benefit the more than 129 million people living in the Northeast and Midwestern states. The Alliance is committed to working alongside the USDA Forest Service, NASF, and regional forestry associations to ensure positive outcomes and strong, effective forestry programs.
